Saturday Double Feature: Fast and Furious 6 (2013) and…

Saturday on the blog means Saturday Double Feature, right? Remember, the basic idea here is to take a movie that is out in theaters now, and pair it up with another movie from the 1980s or before.. Sometimes the connection will be obvious, and sometimes it’ll be a little less so, but that’s part of the fun.

It’s been a long and busy week, so I’m not going to say a lot about this pairing. What we’ve got this week is two movies with a lot of people driving a lot of different cars very, very quickly. One’s a fairly serious action/adventure flick, the other a comedy. First up, the recent one: Fast and Furious 6.

It’s Double Feature partner? Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines for 1976’s The Gumball Rally:

Yeah, I dunno about you, but that seems like a pretty good pair for a drive-in marquee to me. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below, along with any ideas you might have for other pairings with Fast 6 or for other upcoming movies you’d like to see “double featured”. Consider it, if you will, your chance to challenge me to come up with an interesting pair.

Until next time, Happy Viewing!

Methinks the Gatsby trailer included here isn’t what you wanted to include. Gumball Rally is a good choice, probably better than Smokey and the Bandit 🙂

  2. Michael Laws says:

Oops! Sorry about that, folks! It’s been fixed now.

  3. Michael Laws says:

Oh, and yeah, Smokey was a thought, as was Cannonball Run, but I figured I’d go for the original.
