So I guess this is going to be a thing now. In the wake of the popularity of Room 237 and its raft of daft theorists talking about the “real” meanings behind Stanley Kubrick‘s The Shining comes a new movie with a new set of heads breaking down a movie that really does require a lot of deep thought and introspection. That’s right, we’re talking Ghostbusters. And the documentary is called Spook Central:
Of course, my biggest problem with the trailer at least is that there doesn’t seem to be a representative from the moral majority taking on the totally disturbing image of dogs and cats living together.
This actually does look like it could be fun, though, in a way that Room 237 never quite proved to be. And hey, if the distributors and theaters who pick this up take the same opportunity they did with The Shining to bring Ghostbusters back to the big screen, then at least we can thank these film makers for that, right?
I guess we’ll find out more around September which is when Spook Central is scheduled to be unleashed.
