It’s A Reunion For The Audience As Well As The Characters – Here’s The First Full Trailer For Veronica Mars (2014)

CAPRA DOHRINGThe upcoming Veronica Mars movie is a tough one for me to judge, because I was a huge fan of the television show. Thus, I’m not going to be looking at it through the same eyes as someone who is coming to this material without those memories. Of course, this is something that happens whenever a popular (or even not-so-popular) television franchise attempts to make the transition from the small screen to the big one.

And, of course, there’s the added pressure on this one brought on by the fact that it owes even more to its original fans since series creator Rob Carter used a successful Kickstarter campaign to convince the studio powers-that-be to greenlight the project.

On the other hand, considering that the show that the movie is based on was cancelled by the network it was airing on, though it’s fan-base is obviously both loyal  and vocal, it obviously has to reach far beyond that base and draw in those who don’t have any familiarity with the characters, their setting, or past storylines.

It’s an interesting line to have to walk.

So… while from a fan’s point of view, I am absolutely thrilled to see all of these actors ad characters together again, (and kind of amazed that they seem to have managed to draw all of these actors back for this big-screen version), I still have to wonder how it’s going to actually perform once it does hit theaters.

Anyway, here’s the newly-released trailer:

So, what do you think? Were you a fan of the show when it was on television? If so, what do you think – does it look the way you’d want a Veronica Mars movie to look? And if not, does it intrigue or entertain you enough to want to check it out? Let me know in the comments.
