You’ve got Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, and of course, Marilyn Monroe.
You’ve got a slick script by Billy Wilder and I. A. L. Diamond.
You’ve also got Wilder at his directorial best.
You’ve got a great soundtrack, including Marilyn singing “I Want To Be Loved By You”.
You’ve got cross-dressing and umm… “unconventional” love.
You’ve got “Jell-O on springs” and “the fuzzy end of the lollipop”.
You’ve got a movie that received a “C” (Condemned) rating from the National Legion of Decency (formerly the Catholic Legion of Decency).
Plus, you’ve got a movie that kicks off all it’s action with the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre.
Put it all together and you’ve got 1959’s Some Like It Hot.
And you’ve got my recommendation for a perfect movie for your Valentine’s Day viewing.
Enjoy!
